Window Blinds Installation

Do you know how to install window blinds? If you have been confused about how to do it, you have come to the right place. This article will tell you what you the fastest and quickest way to install blinds.

The good news is, most blinds (or almost all) are the same. Therefore, you could use the steps in this article for other various types of blinds too. This even include shades, as they essentially serve the same function as blinds.

What do you need?

Screwdriver or hand drill
Pencil
Measuring tape (optional)

If you have ordered them online, you will notice they come in long, rectangular packaging. When you open it up, you will notice the blind unit is all rolled up.

What is inside the box?

In most cases, you will find there are 2 mounting brackets, a blind, a headrail and screws. The headrail would be the top part of the blind.

Take them out slowly and gently. Most people spoil their blind easily when they don't handle their new blind properly, especially if they are made from plastic.

Step 1

Now, attach the mounting bracket onto your window frame. Position it where you want it. Then mark the hole openings in the bracket with a pencil. You will drill these tiny circular spots later on. Repeat with the other mounting bracket.

Step 2

Drill the spots with your pencil marks. Before you do that, be sure the diameters for both your screws and the drill bit are the same.

Step 3

Use the screwdriver to fix the mounting brackets onto the window frame by turning the screws in

Step 4

Unlock the "safety latch" on your blind. Then attach your window headrail to the mounting bracket. You are almost done.

Step 5

Lock the headrail by securing the latch on the mounting bracket. Do this for both sides.

Step 6

Then simply cover the headrail with the valance (if it comes with the blind) and you are done.
